I have completed all ten Rolfing sessions.
The way I would put it is that Rolfing teaches the body, once again, that each of its parts is connected, so that it can find its own balance. My posture does seem to have improved.
Session by session, I could feel my legs and my hips connecting. What I felt in the final session was different: my mind and my body were connected.
When something is worrying me, or when something unpleasant happens, I cannot sleep, or I lose my appetite. The other way round, when I catch a cold, I do not feel like going out. So I had noticed that mind and body are not unrelated — but only ever on the negative side. Through Rolfing, as my body came into balance, I could feel my mind coming into balance along with it. Being able to experience it from that direction meant a great deal to me.
