Female, 30s, ST (homemaker)

Having finished Rolfing with Hidefumi Otsuka, what I feel is this:
“I am glad I came here.”
That my body and my mind have both become lighter
is something I feel deeply.

I was reading back through my session notes just now, and I nearly sobbed.
One of the reasons Hidefumi’s Rolfing is so good
is that he works with more than the body. The sense of self-rejection that had clung to me for thirty-six years came away, through Hidefumi’s work and through my own refusal to give up. I think of it as something we did together.

From around the fourth session, the outer layer began to peel away, bit by bit, and the real me came out.
By the sixth, what I actually felt finally showed its face, and Hidefumi grinned and said, “There you are — your own feelings have come through at last.”
My body kept connecting up too, until it felt as though sensors had been fitted in every direction, front and back, left and right. And now there is an axis as well.

I would recommend Hidefumi’s Rolfing not only to people whose bodies are troubling them, but rather to anyone who is carrying something in their heart.

On the day I first met Hidefumi, I must have been carrying, in body and in mind, a rucksack holding more than a thousand liters of weight.

Each time I saw him, he took more and more of it away. By the final session, my mind and my body were light enough to skip.

It also made me happy when Hidefumi said to me, “Give yourself some credit (*^^*)”.
And it was wonderful, and genuinely interesting, how much the people around me changed as I changed. I am now living surrounded by even finer people.

My life has finally begun.
It astonishes me that I could change this much in only three months. Hidefumi offered me a great deal besides Rolfing, and it was a wonderful time.

Last of all, I will give myself some credit.
A friend introduced me to Hidefumi, and I thought,
“I will go and meet him,”
and I did it, and that was a fine thing to do. I am truly grateful that the day has come when I can say what I think this clearly.
