I have finished all ten Rolfing sessions!
There were so many things I noticed during the sessions, and I am truly glad I went through them. There is one truth in the world, and all sorts of people put it out there in all sorts of readings; everyone deepens their understanding in their own way, until it settles for them. So there is probably no one method that is right for everybody. That is roughly what I came away with, across the whole series — nothing definite, just a sense of it.
A Note of Where I Felt Things Change
In the Body
Light seems brighter to me than it did.
My neck bends back easily now.
The stuck feeling in my hip joints has gone.
I came to feel, in my body, where my sacrum is.
People have told me I look better.
In the Mind
What I mean by a person I like has changed.
The sides of myself I used to dislike — I no longer want to fix them.
My range for understanding other people has widened.
I used to think winning meant getting the other person to see that I was right; now I know that winning is staying happy myself, whatever is done to me.
I have come to think that having your own axis means not being swept along by other people’s opinions, but choosing what to take in and judging from there.
Even from someone I look up to, I no longer swallow everything blindly.
I can feel more of the happiness I already have.
Something in me settled.
Even when I find myself in the kind of situation where I used to blame myself, I can think at once: ah, this was not my place.
Even somewhere I would rather not be, I can pick up something that turns out to be worth knowing.
Around Me
A few friends left.
More people have been kind, and easy to be around.
My husband and I argue less.
Information about the ways of resting and of looking after myself that suit me has started arriving exactly when I need it.
Thank you so much!
